The wine is made by a big Meursault negociant called Francois Martenot. It's made with burgundian techniques and used barrels but the fruit is from the Limoux area in the south where they make cooler-climate sparkling and other wines. Limoux has become one of the best sources for grapes such as PN in the entire Languedoc. I've tasted and sold many entry-level pinots from France and they come and go, but so far the quality of this one and the varietal correctness impresses me for the price. Highly Recommended
This wine showcases beautiful dark raspberry fruit with a medium-body & a touch of spice. It has a lovely fullness on the palate and silky tannins that really make this stand-out for the price-point. This wine will pair very well with cold starters like salad or charcuterie, grilled meat or a chocolate cake.
