One of my all time favorite wines is soon to disappear forever as artisan winemaker Dominique Roger is retiring and closing up shop. His superb vineyards will be sold to a family member to be incorporated into their own wines, and this beautiful expression of Dominique’s 30 year old vineyards in Bue will be nothing but a memory. I have sold and enjoyed hs wines for decades, and it’s sad to see them go! Here’s a last chance to stash some away as the 2023 vintage is Dominique’s last.
Cool, focused, crisp and mineral, with bright gooseberry and citrus tinged fruit, plenty of vibrant freshness and acidity, and a wee hint of salinity in the finish. Break out the sushi, oysters, shellfish, shrimp, mild fish, ceviche, crudo, salads, and chevre, this is the perfect match! Dominique Roger crafts some of the very best Sancerre you can buy, and offers it at a very fair price earning it a 98 point value score - don’t miss it!
