Why is this so good? It is made from organically farmed grapes (the domaine has not used any herbicides or pesticides since 1994 and has been certified organic since 2011), grown in nine parcels in six vineyards just below the village of Meursault - and it tastes like it! It is a few dollars more than their standard Bourgogne Blanc, but this old-vine cuvee is definitely worth it! Meursault character and quality in spades!

In addition, in 2017 the Bourgogne "Cote d'Or" AOC was created for red and white Burgundy produced only from 40 villages of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the heartland of the greatest terroir for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Wine labeled as Bourgone without the "Cote d'Or" distinction can come from anywhere in Burgundy, and the step up in quality can be dramatic and from the top producers like Jobard, wines in this new category can rival many lesser producer's Chassagne, Puligny and Meursault, offering exceptional quality for the money.
Less than a dozen or so cases are on offer, get them while they last. If you need any more incentive the 2021 vintage was dramatically reduced (by 50-90% and more for some growers and vineyards) and there will be more price increases and scarcity for white Burgundy in the future. Stock up now and beat the coming crunch! Inside Burgundy founder, critic and fellow Master of Wine consistently praises this cuvee from Jobard, bestowing it with a four star rating and writing the following: "Pale lime colour. The nose is very sensual, ripe but not exaggerated, this is so harmonious, really graceful with a lovely touch of fresh saline acidity. Excellent persistence. I know more muscular and structured examples, but this will give great pleasure."

"Remi Jobard is the son of Charles Jobard and the nephew of Francois Jobard. It is no surprise that Remi followed in the footsteps of these legendary brothers, eventually taking over his family's domaine. The domaine has not used any herbicides or pesticides since 1994 and is certified organic since 2011. All of Remi's wines show a clarity of terroir, which comes from the impeccable farming and a simple hands-off approach in the cellar. When asked it, Remi says, "We are very privileged to have great terroir in Meursault. Everything I do in the vineyard and in my cellar is to make sure that terroir is transparent and completely unobscured."
