The 2018 Robert Foley Cabernet is everything you would expect from this phenomenal winemaker, crafting beautiful Napa Wines from his winery perched high on Howell Mountain
Bob and I go way back, having worked together at Markham Vineyards in the 1980s, I in marketing, he at the helm making the wines.
Bob went on to help create Pride Mountain winery as winemaker, putting them on the map with their outstanding wines.
He went on to consult for a number of great properties (Hour Glass, Switchback Ridge, and Paloma to name a few) and then opened his own eponymous winery.
The 2018 is in a great place, just entering its prime with deep dark berry fruit, hints of vanilla and nicely integrated oak. It’s all surrounded by ripe, supple tannins and layers of delicious Napa Cab character. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 18-20 months in 30% new French oak.
Drink now and for a decade or more, this is a Cab that will give the $150-$300 boys a run for the money.
Worthy in every way for our 98 point Cree Wine Value score, this is one not to miss! Cheers! Chris Cree, Master of Wine
