The Morey family has been working in the vineyards of the famed village of Meursault since 1793. In 1971 Domaine Pierre Morey was created and is still managed by Pierre Morey, a living legend in Burgundy. He was the régisseur (winemaker and vineyard manager) for the famed Domaine Leflaive starting in 1988 and ending in July of 2008, where he produced some of the greatest white wines in the history of Burgundy. A trailblazer, he began biodynamic farming and winemaking conversions at both Domaine Leflaive and his own estate vineyards starting in 1991 and officially certified by 1997.
Today he assisted by his daughter Anne at their family winery, an 11-hectare domaine spread over the communes of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and especially Meursault. It is worked using the biodynamic approach, crafting beautiful, authentic expressions of Chardonnay in some of the best terroir in the world.
