How much do we love this wine? So much we bought it all! I've said it before and I will say it again - All of us at Cree Wine get just as excited to taste and discover a new, off-the-beaten-path wine (at a price we can all enjoy guilt free) as we do tasting rare, expensive (and admittedly outstanding) classic collectibles.
Maybe it's the value proposition, maybe because we are cheap! I blame it on my Scottish penny pinching heritage - can't speak for the rest of the team.
But this wine from Maison Fontan is everything we love in a summer red. It's mid weight, with just 12.5% alcohol - I LOVE this, especially in summer!
It's loaded with succulent cherry, cranberry and cassis fruit. It's bright, crunchy and lively, with an elegant fine boned character, yet enough weight to work with everything from grilled meaty fish, to chicken, pork, veal, burgers, and so much more!
Serve it with a little chill - 15 minutes or less on ice - and it's bright fresh fruit tones emerge, nicely countered by lively acidity. Grape varieties : 60% Tannat, 40% Merlot, all stainless fermentation. This is my new "go-to" summer red - and I thoroughly plan to load up now!
