Kopke is the oldest of all the Port houses, best known for their terrific tawnies and beautiful vintage dates tawnies, or colehitas. The 1981 Colheita is beautiful, with complex spicy, nutty & intense yet flavors.
The beautiful old gold color of this wine sets the scene for a Port that is rich, lusciously sweet but also shot through with acidity. It is this balance that makes for a gorgeous wine, ripe and fresh, rich and mature.
