JUST IN TIME FOR THANKSGIVING!
“dark, earth tinged aromas with hints of savory herbs, cocoa powder, and a lush, silky palate impression from start to long, lingering finish.” Chris Cree, Master of Wine
Our long time customers know this producer for their amazing “Les Poyeaux” cuvee from their vineyards in the Loire Valley’s Saumur Champigny region, snapping up 100s of bottles every time we offer it. It’s sells for about $50 and rivals the quality of the legendary Rougeard Les Poyeaux, a wine that sells to well over $450! This year we tasted it along side its little brother, the wine on offer today.
Low and behold we liked the less expensive wine better, by a lot, and at $20 per bottle less, it is a steal!
98 Point Cree Wine Value - It is deep ruby purple, with aromas of dark, earth-tinged fruit, medium to full on the palate with fine tannins, a silky nature, more dark cherry and hints of savory herbs, cocoa powder, and a long, lovely finish. This is a perfect, affordable wine to pair with pork, game birds, duck breast, roasted chicken and especially a classic Thanksgiving Turkey dinner! Cheers! Chris Cree M
