Intense garnet color with aromas of spicy black fruit, plum jam, ripe olives and a underlying stemmy-minty hallmark. Wonderfully fresh and structured yet balanced and with exuberant tannins that guarantee its longevity. Best served alongside roasts, game, or hearty casseroles.
This is a powerful red wine, full of dense tannins and ripe, juicy black fruits. It has a deep, concentrated color, and has a spicy character. Its unique tannin structure enhances a long bottle aging, but is drinking wonderfully now. A blend of Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet (from Old Vines)
Family-run by the descendants of the original family whose cellar and vineyard workers have been with them for generations. The process is, as it always has been, unhurried. The grape varieties are local, picked by hand and foot-trodden. Herdade do Mouchão remains a traditional, family-run winery.
