Vineyard: The Scudetto vineyard is within the hamlet of Perno in Monforte d'Alba at 300m in elevation
Soil: Clayey-sandy, composed of brown clay and grey sand of marine origin, with the presence of pebbles and small skeletal particles
Viticulture: Harvested in the first two weeks of October
Vinification: Traditional-style, floating cap fermentation for 15/20 days. These estate-grown grapes are harvested from 60/70-year-old vines with low yields
Aging: Aged in Slavonian oak for 8-10 months
Notes: The vineyard is named so because its' shape is that of a shield. The Italian soccer championship is also called the Scudetto
