This is one of our favorites from Puligny, packed full of minerals and stones, crushed herbs, citrus zest and lemon flesh. This is salty & sleek with tons of character & layers of flavor. The vineyard is towards the top of the slope on the North side of the village, just underneath Les Perrieres. There is a predominance of limestone in this well-drained vineyard that typically yields finely etched but ripe fruited wines with a chalky finish. It spends 12 months in barriques followed by 6 months in tank.
The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Nosroyes has a similar reduction to the Les Levrons, focused and perhaps even more concentrated. The palate is well-balanced with impressive depth. There’s not quite the mineralité of a Premier Cru, but ample concentration with a lively, spicy finish. Delicious.
