This is a fresh, fun Duras, an obscure grape from Gaillac, an obscure region in Southwest, France. Juicy black raspberry blend perfectly with a herbaceous quality. The nose displays cherry and peppery flavors. Light tannins combined with red fruit and white pepper give to this wine finesse and freshness. Pair w/ appetizers, white meats, medium aged cheeses and some fishes. Great with a chill & comes Highly Recommended!
Domaine Gayrard was established in the 1950s by Maurice Gayrard and became one of the first producers of bottled wine in Gaillac. After hitting hard times in the 1990s, Maurice's great-grandson Pierre is now at the helm, and has returned Domaine Gayrard to its roots, refocusing his efforts on replanting indigenous Gaillac grape varieties, such as Braucol and Mauzac. The estate practices organic and biodynamic farming methods.
