Located in the West Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, the large estate of Château Kefraya has been the Bustros family’s property for generations. All Chateau Kefraya wines are certified vegan and a good share of their vineyards are already organic-certified. It’s from 30 year-old vines spread over 22 hand-harvested hectares. Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre are aged in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months. Combining power and elegance with silky tannins, the Château Kefraya is characterized by subtle notes of cherry, spices, leather and vanilla, and the 2017 is now showing lovely secondary notes - complex and reminiscent of a good Bordeaux with some maturity. 

Pairing: Lamb, steaks, pork, kabobs, burgers all come to mind, and it could stand up to middle eastern spices and mediterranean preparations too! Truly a unique and awesome wine from a most exceptional and unexpected location for wine!
