Discovered last year on my trip to Wine Paris, this fabulous right bank Bordeaux is a monumental release from Château Godard. Crafted from 50 year old sustainably farmed grapes on limestone and clay soils, it is only made in the very best vintages. We featured this wine back in February and immediately sold out of the first drop. The good news is we just received our second and final shipment!
From the exceptional 2022 vintage - rated as “Outstanding” by the Wine Advocate - this wine embodies the power, richness, structure. and depth of this outstanding year.
Powerful, deep and dark, with an intense core of dark cassis, plum, dark cherry and blackberry fruits, wrapped in ample but ripe tannins and a hint of oak from its time in French oak barrels. Bottom line is this is a wine not to be missed.
Lay a few bottles or a case away in the cellar and enjoy this incredible value for a decade and more, or decant and enjoy now with steaks, chops, burgers and more!! Cheers!
