Chateau Chauvin's second label, Folie de Chauvin, is a blend of 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
This is the third vintage of Folie de Chauvin, and with the superb quality of the grapes in 2016, Sylvie and her team have crafted a beautiful wine of distinction. In the glass, the wine displays a brilliant mid-purple color with ruby highlights. Energetic aromas of ripe blackberry, strawberry, blueberry and plum waft from the glass with a touch of herbs and spice. The palate is awash with a refreshing acidity and satin tannins that perfectly frame flavors of juicy dark berries and a saline minerality that glide into an invigorating finish. The Folie de Chauvin is lively, friendly and easy-to-drink. This versatile and delicious Saint Émilion will pair wonderfully with anything off the grill: barbecued chicken, dry-rub steak or rosemary pork tenderloin.
