Deep ruby purple hue, classic nose of dark plum fruit, cassis, spice, earth, mocha, and soft tannins. Supple, mouthfilling and delicious, with a long, balanced finish, this is a textbook Right Bank blend of 60% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, that is rich, layered and complex way beyond its modest price tag!

Drink it now and for the next 4-6 years at least. Serve with anything from light meats such as pork or veal, game birds or duck breast, to roasted or grilled chicken, burgers or a filet mignon and more. Arrives late day May 23rd, just in time for Memorial Day BBQs! It will be open to taste on arrival.

Stash away a case or so of this and enjoy guilt free, affordable, classic Bordeaux for the next few years and more! Cheers, Chris

Chateau Carignan Description

Château Carignan is located in the town of Carignan de Bordeaux, just a scant 10km (6.5 miles) East of Bordeaux. The castle was built in 1452, by Jean Poton de Xaintrailles - comrade in arms of Joan of Arc - and who was instrumental in the victory of the Castillon battle that ended the Hundred Years’ War.

In 2007, Andy Lench purchased the estate that now covers 150 hectares (370 acres) of which 65 hectares (160 acres) are under vine and are spread over Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. Farming philosophy is sustainable with no use of herbicides or pesticides, cover crops every 2 rows, and only organic fertilizer including manure sourced from cows at the estate.
