From Munébrega, in southeastern D.O. Calatayud, this wine is 100% Garnacha de Aragón, the oldest clone of Garnacha (Grenache) in the world. Harvested from vines planted between 1940-1960 on rocky slate and quartz soils. Aged for 16 months in French oak puncheons (500L) and demi-muid (600L).
“There’s a wealth of ripe dark-berry and spicy-fruit aromas here with black tea and a herbal edge. The palate is bright and assertive with blackberry flavor. Drink now.”
Josh Raynolds - “Lurid ruby. Aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, potpourri and candied licorice are complemented by smoky mineral and oak spice nuances that emerge with air. Juicy, expansive black raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors put on weight with aeration while retaining a surprisingly graceful touch. Supple tannins lend grip to a long, spice-laced finish that echoes the floral note. .”
