Pierluigi Lugano has done it again with this exciting, mineral-driven Vermentino. We have had such a successful run with his one-of-a-kind Ciliegiolo, so when the opportunity arose to bring in one of his whites, we had to bite down on it. Pierluigi is renowned across Italy for being amongst the best of Liguria's producers of fine wine. He is a staunch defender of the region's indigineous varietals, including varietals such as Bianchetta Genovese, Alberola, Bosca, and of course, Ciliegiolo. Everything is done by hand, and there are no shortcuts; Traditonal winemaking is the secret to his craft.
The Vignerta Vermentino sings with brimming acidity and a tightrope texture. Notes of lemon pith, racy sea shell, and bright florals. This is the oyster wine, as every glass is almost like drinking bottled sea spray.
