I can’t tell you how much I love the wines from this classic Barolo producer, from their Langhe Nebbiolo to their outsatinding Barolo Riservas. We’ve been happily selling the delicious, ready to drink 2013 classic cuvee by the glass, bottle and case (everyone who tries it loves it!).
Then along comes the amazing powerhouse Riserva Dardi 2015 - a deep, solid, structured Barolo and a perfect cellar candidate for a couple of years of aging. Drink the 2013 while you wait for this beauty to evolve - it will be worth the wait! Here’s the quote from Antonio - not much to add here just a beautiful, classically made wine for true Barolo lovers! Valentine's Day. Cheers! Chris
Brothers Alessandro and Gian Natale Fantino run this under the radar family winery located in Monforte d’Alba - the heart of some of Barolo’s best terroir estate. They have eight hectares in the superb Bussia cru, one of Barolo’s top sites, known for making that magical combination of power, finesse and age-worthiness. Their vines are all from the “Dardi” section of Bussia, the best part of the Cru. They have been at it for a long time, and prior to coming to work at the family winery, Alessandro managed the vineyards and was the enologist at Cantina Bartolo Mascarello for 20 years from 1978 to 1997. Pretty good influence I’d say! Today the wines are true classic, and a relative bargain to boot!
