Summer Walk Around Tasting - If You Missed it hereare the wines!

We are happy to report that yesterday's Mid-Summer All American wine tasting was a big success, with 22 wines open to taste and a delicious assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres. We we also honored to have Jean Edwards Winery oners and founders Karen and John Troisi in the house pouring their superb Napa Chardonnay, Petit Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet - thank you John and Karen!

But the biggest surprise of the event was our mystery wine, with over two dozen intrepid tasters taking the challenge! Only two got it right (with a little help), tbut many others getting it partly right in identifying it as a Chardonnay. But most had it in California, Oregon or Washington, arguably regions with a reputation of high quality Chardonnay, and a few putting in the the Burgundy region of France. When I aksed how many liked it, every singe hand went up. The surprise? It was Alba Vineyards Estate Bottle Warren Hills AVA Chardonnay - grown and bottled just a few miles away!
