Finding a truly well-made, easy-drinking, food-friendly wine under $15 has become harder than ever.
With tariffs, inflation, and increasing production costs, the value-driven wine landscape is cluttered with mass-produced, overly processed, and manipulated bottles. Too often, these are generic reds and whites made by big brands with little soul or story.
At Cree Wine Company, we set the bar higher.
We search tirelessly for hand-crafted wines made sustainably or organically—wines that express the character of their vineyards and the passion of their winemakers. These are bottles we’re proud to pour and personally enjoy.
Today’s featured wine checks every box.
Made in a genuine 13th-century castle in the Hérault region of Languedoc, southern France, this wine is a classic blend of:
This is the kind of wine I’ve proudly sold—and served at my own table—for decades.
It’s lovely dark fruit, black pepper, cassis, black olive hints, and medium to full bodied character make it a perfect match for fall fare including roasted chicken or turkey, duck breasts of confit, game birds, short ribs, cassoulet, steaks, and chops of all kind, and of course, the Perryville Burger!
Legendary critic Robert Parker once named it a "Best Buy"
He wrote: “Château d'Oupia has produced the ideal bistro wine. Dark, ruby-colored, the wine is wonderfully clean and pure, with an exuberant personality, and gobs of rich, peppery red and black fruit… Bravo to proprietor André Iché!”
Though André passed away in 2007, the estate is now in the skilled hands of his daughter, Marie-Pierre Iché, who continues the tradition with the help of local old-timers who know the land intimately.
Don’t miss this perfect fall and winter red that won’t break the bank.
Open to taste all week and at our Fall Tasting this Saturday!
