Another absolute gem from Michel Courveur. This 'Special Vatting' bottling is a blend of three different single malts from three different distilleries and then aged in ex-sherry casks and aged in cave in Burgundy, France. The colder temperature and higher humidity creates a fatter texture and layers of complexity. Unique barely describes this producer and expression from him. Highest Recommendation
Blended Malt Whisky from 3 Distilleries with the youngest being 12 Years Old. 90 Proof or 45% abv. Matured in ex-Sherry Butts: PX, Oloroso, Amontillado. Very complex flavors are obtained thanks to an old, mature, spicy and mellow whisky. Deep and rancio flavors : salty, fresh almond, Sherry, leather, tobacco, w/ delicate & subtle woody flavors. Silky texture w/ complex & balance palate. Consume at room temperature after dinner as a digestive or with a cigar.
